There are many agroindustrial wastes that can provide one or more essential nutrients for plant growth. The present study deals with the characterization of fique juice, its environmental evaluation and an analysis of the requirements to be used as liquid fertilizer. The environmental impact was determined with the gray footprint was 377.9 ± 14.7 L/m3 of juice for chemical oxygen demand (COD); 255.3 ± 11.2 L/m3 of juice for biochemical oxygen demand (BOD5); 29.6 ± 3.1 L/m3 of juice in phosphorus and 10.6 ± 1.8 L/m3 of nitrogen, indicating that its discharge would cause serious environmental damage.  However, since it is organic, the capacity to biologically reduce the organic load was determined, reaching a percentage of 90% biodegradability in 55 hours, which indicates that it would be rapidly utilized by microorganisms. Finally, with the results of the physicochemical characterization and taking into account the NTC-ISO 5167 standard, the fique juice is classified as a non-humic liquid organic amendment or conditioner, although the concentrations of the macronutrients N, P2O5, K2O do not meet the minimum value, it is feasible that fique growers can move towards a circular economy by using fique juice as an amendment and fertilizer substitute in their own crops, complementing fertilization with organic fertilizer that can also be obtained from fique bagasse or another source.
