Abstract: The urban solid wastes generation is a consequence of the human beings’ different activities carried out daily in a municipality. The magnitude of the environmental impact generated is local or regional, depending on how the waste management and disposal are carried out. An experiment was designed in order to study, during six months, variables related to the decomposition and stabilization of the urban solid wastes, some of them dealing with the waste and others with the leachate. From the beginning of the experimentation it was specified that there is an outstanding factor in the observed waste, and it is the exposal to rainfall. Therefore, two experiments with the same conformation conditions, but one subjected to the rain incidence, and other protected by a cover were carried out.
