Resumen
La industria del software en Colombia es considerada un «sector de clase mundial» que representa una oportunidad de fomento de la competitividad y crecimiento económico e industrial. La importancia de esta industria a nivel económico radica en el respaldo de la operatividad y estabilidad que otorga a otros sectores industriales importantes de la economía nacional. No obstante, la evidencia empírica revela limitaciones de crecimiento que deben ser superadas para lograr las metas propuestas para el sector. El presente trabajo busca identificar el problema que está en la raíz del bajo crecimiento de la industria, a través del análisis sistémico y el uso de metodologías de modelamiento. Los resultados demuestran deficiencias en el desarrollo industrial y expansión de mercados del sector, a causa del desconocimiento de la dinámica sistémica de la industria.
Abstract
Colombian software industry is considered a world-class sector that represents an opportunity for economic and industrial growth and boosting competitiveness. The economic relevance of this industry lays in the fact that it gives support to the operability and stability of other important industrial sectors of the domestic economy. On the other hand, empirical evidence reveals that there are growth limitations to overcome in order to achieve the proposed goals of the sector. This research work aims to identify the problem that is at the root of the low growth of the industry through a systemic analysis and the use of modeling methodologies. The results indicate deficiencies in the industrial development and market expansion in the sector, due to the misunderstanding of the system dynamic of this industry.
Resumo
A indústria de software na Colômbia é considerada uma "indústria de classe mundial" representa uma oportunidade para promover a competitividade e o crescimento econômico e industrial. A importância deste sector economicamente reside no apoio ao funcionamento e estabilidade concedida a outros setores industriais importantes da economia nacio- nal. No entanto, a evidência empírica revela restrições ao crescimento que devem ser superados para alcançar as metas estabelecidas para o setor. O presente artigo procura identificar o problema que está na raiz do baixo crescimento da indústria, através de análise de sistemas e o uso de metodologias de modelagem. Os resultados demonstram deficiências no desenvolvimento industrial e expansão do sector de mercado, por causa da falta de dinâmica sistêmica da indústria.
